The paintings explore the arrangement of elements in the land and sea both familiar and mysterious. They are a response to the natural environment, charting expansive, atmospheric scenes. An interest in how countryside and coast has been affected by different pressures – ancient stone layers in cliffs, farming practices on fields and the changing coastline – is evident in the work.
